David Feingold has always been a controversial comic. Being thrown out of Mrs. Blum’s Hebrew class in 3rd grade for reading a Yaakov Smirnoff comedy book during Bible class cemented that for him.Read more...

    Carpe Diem

    Monday, October 29th, 2007

As I sit here writing this, I have a girl stroking my knee.

    It feels so good.

I had such a long day today.

So much has happened, but I can’t tell you about it till tomorrow.

    Either way, today was productive.

We did a 2 1/2 hour radio show.

Guam Felix and Roy Mitchel were amazing.

It was a good food day as well.

Rice, beans, tacos, soda & rice crispy treats.

    Damn I am full.

    Damn my tooth still hurts.

I have a few big days in front of me, but who cares.

    Carpe Diem.

That’s Spanish for double meat animal style.

    Damn now I want one.

    With xtra raw onions.

    No fries and a coke.

I wonder if they are still open.

    Till later.

Wait I forgot the bag of Doritos.

    Dedicated

Wow, producing a comedy show is hard.

Forget the great phone call I got today from someone really really cool.

Forget the fact that I have half a tooth.

Let’s not even talk about the fact that I almost got arrested for handing out flyers on SDSU’s campus.

It all pales though to when I got called out back during the show and told that if we don’t cut the mike I am going to jail.

    I tried to kill time.

    Yes officer.

    I am sorry officer.

    What if we do this?

    What if we do that?

But in the end I had to turn down the mike on Josh Mullins.

Everyone took it in stride and the show was AMAZING.

I was so stressed out, but after some hummus, pita and grape leaves I was feeling better.

To tell you the truth, right before the end of the show, as I heard all the people laughing hysterically to the comedy of Kyle Smith, I knew it was all worth it.

I was ready to go to jail for comedy.

I lost a job for comedy.

    You know what?

We are still doing it next week.

    Indoors of course.

I need a piece of chocolate.

    I deserve it.

    Shipping Out

    Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

I actually exercised today while doing a good deed.

    Let me explain.

After showering and eating a scoop of peanut butter, I headed out to help a friend of mine move.

What I didn’t know, was that her husband was deploying to Iraq on Thursday.

So as I was lifting things onto the Uhaul truck, I was talking to him about what he was in for.

    It’s crazy.

He is leaving a phat condo in La Jolla to go live in the mountains of Iraq for 6 months.

While I get to tell jokes, he will be defending us.

    Then it was lunchtime.

I got to eat a gyro and salad.

It wasn’t much of a sandwich and I ended up just eating it with a fork.

    But hey.

    I am not complaining.

    Then I taught.

Something about referring to the garden of eden as “that magical garden” kind of makes the whole being a Hebrew school teacher thing kind of stupid.

    But I love it.

    The kids love me.

Oh yeah, then I went to my Russian friends house and got a massage.

Now I am doing data recovery at 2 am for a friend.

Food, eating, moving, and hot Russian chicks massaging.

Not bad for a fat Jewish guy.

    The Producers

    Thursday, October 11th, 2007

    I am tired.

It’s 4 AM and I just got home.

Yes, it was another late night BBQ session with Joe Charles.

Of course there was turkey involved.

    Maybe even some mashed potatoes.

    I mean potato salad.

But, whatever food may or may not have been consumed, that’s not the point.

The issue here is, that I was able to put on a great comedy show.

Mike Vinn, Old Roy, Matt Zint, Jessica Kook, Tim Palmer, Jacob Goldstein & Joe Charles made tonight a dream come true.

    Well, sort of.

Growing up, I am sure I never said to myself that I wanted to have my own comedy night in San Diego.

I am positive that I never dreamed I would be producing a show.

    However, that’s what I did.

Part of putting on a show is knowing what you don’t know.

    That’s why I had Jacob.

    We built a stage.

    Put up a sound system.

The key was promotion and booking.

That’s what I am good at.

    50 people showed up.

Not bad for a Jew from Philly.

    The day started off good.

    Lunch with the rabbi.

    Setting up the stage.

Getting a call from a Hollywood director asking me to write with him.

Talking to a bunch of great people.

And oh yeah, doing a ten minute set and having people enjoy my comedy.

The late night BBQ really sealed the deal though.

Looking forward to many many more.

    Fat Jewish Comedy Is Launched

    Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

    I can’t believe I pulled this off.

Joe Charles, Tim Palmer, Jessica Kook, Old Roy, Matt Zint.

They are all coming to the debut of Fat Jewish Comedy on Wednesday at the Egyptian Tea Room.

It’s gonna be a great show.

We Built a stage, have a PA system, a banner and I am just excited.

So excited in fact that I am at the Tea Room right now getting some final touches ready.

On a different note, I ate something great today.

I took hot fudge and put them in a corn tortilla.

It was truly heaven on earth.

    Well, almost bedtime.

    Please come out tomorrow.

Fat Jewish Radio Does 3 Hour Show!

    Monday, October 1st, 2007

We had a great radio show tonight.

252 listeners that I know of.

It’s been a short 5 weeks and I am honored to have that kind of following.

I had a great radio guest, Karen from Ohio.

But Delicious took the cake. (not her real name, protecting the innocent)

She told me in detail what she is going to do to me in 2 weeks when she gets here.

    Was she serious?

    Probably not, but who cares.

    It was great radio.

By the way you can hear her about 2 hours and 10 minutes into the Fat Jewish broadcast.

Just click on the show and fast forward.

    The picture is actually her.

    So wish me luck!

    The Egyptian Tea Room

    Sunday, September 30th, 2007

So the Eagles lost, the Phillies and the Yankees are in, but also my fantasy team might actually win this week.

However, all that means nothing if I won’t be able to get out of bed this week.

So, I did the responsible thing.

Went to The Comedy Store even with my fever, did my 3 minutes and left.

Now I am drinking some kind of soothing tea at The Egyptian Tea Room.

It’s a cool spot nestled on College Avenue right above El Cajon Blvd.

The people are great and the Owner is a nice man.

Come on down, ask for Harry and tell him Fat Jewish Guy sent you.

Either way, I am enjoying the silence, as I redo my site, get ready for the week and basically just try and get better.

So, whether your an eagles or Giants fan, everyone can vote for Oily Falafel balls (my fantasy team)
